Rush Kappa Sigma

Welcome Home.

Kappa Sigma is more than just a leader in the CMU Greek Community, it is a home for the men who have made the decision to enrich their college experience by becoming a member for life. The experience you will gain as a member of the house is unparalleled and cannot be replicated anywhere else. More than that, the brotherhood between our members is unmatched and continues for the rest of brothers' lives. When you become a Kappa Sigma, you take the first of many steps towards becoming a better student and a better man.

Despite what others may say, the best way to rush a house is to meet the brotherhood. The focal point of our house is not our social activities or rush events - though those are certainly important and exciting - but is the sense of fellowship amongst members. We look for men who want to be a part of such a tight-knit group and aim to better themselves as students and men. We'd be excited to meet you - feel free to stop by the chapter house for a home-cooked dinner any evening at 5:30pm. Alternatively, you are welcome to meet the brotherhood at specific rush events the house plans during designated rush periods. A list of events for the most recent rush period is below.

If you are interested in the house, we strongly encourage you to read through our chapter brochure and visit the About Delta-Alpha section, as they answer many common questions and provides a more detailed overview of who we are. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!

Besides the amazing friendships, some of the tangible benefits being a member has to offer include:

  • The chance to live in our 3-story house, near the main parts of the CMU campus
  • The ability to join the Kappa Sigma meal plan, providing home-cooked meals during the week by our private chef
  • Academic support from brothers taking the same classes as you or who have valuable experience in your major
  • IM sports teams and regular pick up games between brothers
  • Access to social events with organizations from CMU, Pitt, and Duquesne universities as well as brotherhood events around the city
  • Opportunities to join our competitive buggy and booth teams

The four pillars at the heart of Kappa Sigma are fellowship, scholarship, leadership, and service. These pillars along with our three watchwords, commitment, diligence, and initiative, have helped to transform our brothers into better men. Delta Alpha has produced great men and notable alumni such as Edgar D. Mitchell, who was a pilot on the Apollo XIV mission and was the sixth man to set foot on the moon, and Howard Harpster, who was an inductee in the College Football Hall of Fame. Over the years we have played an active role in our campus community and have established a well recognized presence. To this day Kappa Sigma continues to foster strong brotherhood and strives to help young men reach their full potential.

STRONGER BROTHERS | BETTER MEN
